More options for all.

There are two main types of Insurance Agents, Captive and Independent. A captive agent is one who works for just one insurance carrier, some will allow you to work for a brokerage of their choosing to offer a carrier or two for “high risk” clients. Wost part of being a captive agent is if your carrier takes a rate increase. All you can do is call your clients and tell them to expect a higher bill. Usually captive agents have great customer service that makes them stand out.

A Indendent Agent is someone who partners with a large list of insurance carriers. Carriers who are often much nicer to your budget. This allows the agent to give the client a choice. It allows the agent to have multiple options for the client in the event of a rate increase or bad claims experence.

I have been selling insurance for a long time as a captive agent and nothing was more frustrating at work when my friends and family and clients took a rate increase. For 10 years I didn’t have an option for them, other than the one rate they were getting from that one company. All I had was me and the exceptional customer service that my clients deserved.

Starting the Christensen Insurance Agency allowed me to have all of these options for my clients, friends and family. No longer do I have to make the call to inform my client to expect a higher bill and leave it at that, hoping that they stay with on as clients. It is the opposite side of the coin that im used to. Instead lf working for the company, selling their product and their agenda, now I get to work for the client! Getting them the best coverage possible at the best rate possible with carriers such as Nationwide, Safeco, Encompass, Progressive, American Modern, Foremost, Bristol West, ect. I get to offer all of these carriers while still being able to offer my clients the exceptional customer service they deserve.
